The VOLUME/VOLUME/TONE knob configuration is definitely the best in our opinion to control the J/J cartridge configuration, and the TONE knob (which also works in passive mode) allows you to switch from Jaco or Motown style -Sounds to more modern and open sounds. The BASS/MIDDLE/HIGH controls of the active EQ section give this vintage instrument a modern character and deliver a balanced and defined sound even at extreme settings.
